Dedicated to fostering peace through global relationships while educating a new generation of Americans about the realities of war, the value of peace, and the true cost of freedom. Two generations removed from the sacrifices of the “Greatest Generation,” today’s youth must reconnect with history and understand the liberties they enjoy were hard-won. Through programs like Civic Summits, Flags for Freedom, and the K–12 Normandy Curriculum, Operation Democracy brings history to life in classrooms, meeting state standards while cultivating informed, civic-minded citizens who appreciate the principles of democracy.
As a proud project partner of the WWII Heroes Foundation, Operation Democracy works alongside us in advancing WWII education through their Normandy-based curriculum. Guided by a commitment to ethical leadership, global citizenship, and honoring veterans, they strive to strengthen the historic bonds between France and the United States. Their mission empowers students to think critically, discern truth, and embrace their role as ambassadors for freedom. By bridging past and present, Operation Democracy ensures that the stories, sacrifices, and lessons of WWII continue to inspire future generations to protect peace, honor those who served, and cherish democracy.

Walk Among Heroes Foundation is committed to ensuring that no hero is ever forgotten. Millions of brave men and women—especially our World War II veterans—sacrificed their lives to protect the greatest privilege on earth: freedom. As these heroes grow older, the chance to hear their first-hand accounts becomes increasingly rare. Walk Among Heroes works tirelessly to preserve these stories, celebrate their service, and pass their legacy on to future generations.
Too often, these extraordinary individuals live quietly among us, unrecognized for their courage and sacrifice. We might pass them in the grocery store or see them in a park, never realizing the incredible history they carry. Walk Among Heroes believes it is our responsibility to honor them now, before it’s too late. Through education, storytelling, and connecting with veterans in the very places they fought, the foundation ensures their sacrifices are remembered, respected, and shared with the world—so their courage will inspire for generations to come.
