Colonel Edwin “Andy” Anderson, USA (Ret.)

Colonel (Ret.) Andy Anderson began his military journey in 1969 through an Army ROTC scholarship at the University of Georgia, where he earned both a BBA and MBA. Commissioned into the Army Corps of Engineers in 1975, his early assignments included leadership roles in Germany and with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg.

In 1982, Andy transitioned into Special Operations, serving with the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and completing the elite Special Forces Qualification Course. He later became one of the first officers to formally join the newly established Special Forces Branch. His career included key leadership roles during Operation Desert Storm, command of the 2nd Battalion (Advanced Skills), and senior staff positions with U.S. Army Special Operations Command.

A graduate of the Air Force War College, Andy returned to Fort Bragg to lead the 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne), where he expanded the Special Forces Assessment and Selection and Qualification Courses. He later served as Director of Training and Doctrine and concluded his career as J3 of Combined Joint Task Force–Horn of Africa, retiring in 2005 after 30 years of active duty.

Post-retirement, Andy founded Precision Solutions Group, advising U.S. and international clients on defense, government, and academic engagement. He served on the Board of Directors for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) from 2007 to 2020 and now continues his support as an Ambassador.

Andy and his wife, Jan, married in 1975, have remained deeply involved in military and civilian communities, especially in Fayetteville and Fort Bragg. In 2019, they returned to their hometown of Washington, Georgia, where they continue to serve as advocates for veterans and their families.
